Dear <<First Name>>,

Thank you for your interest in the Consumer Data Right (CDR). In this update, we're pleased to announce that consultation on the CDR Register design for interested stakeholders has officially opened on GitHub, an online community of developers.

Consumer Data Right Register

The ACCC will perform the role of the CDR Registrar. The CDR Registrar will have the function of maintaining the Register of Accredited Persons (the Register) who have been granted accreditation by the ACCC to become data recipients under the CDR.

Feedback sought

The ACCC has established a GitHub repository to receive input from industry stakeholders to assist us in ensuring the Register design meets the needs of the overarching CDR ecosystem.

The focus of our initial consultation will be the Register API which will be used by accredited participants to retrieve data relating to data holders and data recipients that is necessary for participation in the CDR ecosystem.

Next steps

The ACCC is seeking written comments in relation to the Register API through GitHub and also intends to hold workshops for interested parties. Further details of these workshops will be provided in a future newsletter.

The ACCC also intends to consult on other aspects of the CDR Register by the end of June 2019, including:

  • business and technical design principles
  • security profile and certificate management
  • caching and refreshing of Register metadata.

For more information, please see: GitHub API consultation.

Kind regards,
