Dear <<First Name>>,

Thank you for your interest in the Consumer Data Right (CDR). Here are some recent developments:

Draft rules

The CDR draft rules have been made available today. The draft rules cover issues central to the implementation of the CDR in banking.

While there are a range of matters that need to be finalised before the CDR can begin, including the passage of enabling legislation, we have released the CDR draft rules for comment to:

  • assist the ACCC to develop best practice rules, and
  • allow potential CDR participants to begin planning and move towards the start of the CDR in banking.

Publication of the CDR draft rules in the banking sector follows consultation on the Rules Outline and the Rules Framework, published in December and September 2018.

If you have feedback on the draft rules we would like to hear from you via the ACCC’s consultation hub. This includes submissions on the privacy aspects of the draft rules, as feedback received through this consultation process will inform a future Privacy Impact Assessment of the CDR rules.

The consultation hub will be open for submissions until Friday 10 May 2019.

Data access models for energy consultation

Thank you to stakeholders who attended the 18 March forum in Sydney and to those who provided submissions to the data access models for energy data consultation. Your views are appreciated.

We will publish the submissions received, forum presentation slides and a forum summary in early April.

Kind regards,

Consumer Data Right Branch
