Dear <<First Name>>,

The ACCC received 40 expressions of interest in response to the invitation to participate in testing of the Consumer Data Right (CDR) ecosystem in the run up to launch in February 2020.

The ACCC would like to thank all those who expressed interest and regrets that it is not possible to invite all those who expressed interest to participate in testing. The ACCC considered all expressions of interest in accordance with the notified selection criteria, which included an entity’s:

  • intention and ability to meet the accreditation criteria by February 2020
  • readiness to participate in testing
  • proposed use case in the context of the proposed Rules.

We are pleased to announce that the ten successful applicants are:

  • 86400 Ltd
  • Frollo Australia Pty Ltd
  • Identitii Ltd
  • Procure Build
  • Quicka Pty Ltd
  • Regional Australia Bank
  • Verifier Australia
  • Wildcard Money Pty Ltd
  • Intuit Australia Pty Ltd
  • Money Tree Financial Technology Pty Ltd.

The selected entities offer a broad range of innovative services to consumers, including services to:

  • assist small businesses to manage their bills, including to speed up making and receiving payments
  • assess a consumer’s financial well-being
  • manage personal finances and budgeting
  • facilitate book keeping and accounting by small businesses and professionals.

Our intention is that participants in testing will be ready to participate in the CDR ecosystem from February 2020 following successful progression through testing, demonstrating their ongoing capacity to meet eligibility criteria and comply with the Rules. Participation in the CDR ecosystem from February 2020 as an accredited person of course requires the person to achieve accreditation under the Rules.

We look forward to working towards a successful launch in February 2020.

Accreditation guidelines

The ACCC has released its CDR accreditation guidelines. The accreditation guidelines are designed to provide information and guidance to assist applicants with lodging a valid application to become an accredited data recipient. The accreditation guidelines also include supplementary guidelines relating to information security and insurance obligations.

The accreditation guidelines will be updated as the CDR ecosystem evolves (for example, to include additional sectors) and are not intended to be exhaustive on all aspects of the accreditation application process. The guide should be read in conjunction with the CDR Rules.

Kind regards,

Consumer Data Right Branch
